Hope Arthur is releasing a new music video for Spiders (Sing the Blues) and performing at Oggi Chicago Gallery on March 23rd, 2018 amidst the backdrop of “Lucent Wood Windows”, an interactive sculptural installation that plays with the relationship between wood and light by Erin Bliss. Hope Arthur will be performing her honest and orchestral original compositions with Kevin Smith and Steve Gilpin before hitting the road to tour with Bloody Tambourine and the Musical Mafia. Look for them in Fort Wayne, IN on March 31st; Appleton, WI April 5th; Minneapolis, MN April 6th; and Chicago, IL April 7th and 8th.
The Hope Arthur Orchestra experiments with sounds reminiscent of Regina Spektor, Bjork, Debussy, Brahms, and Joanna Newsom, commanding the cinematic energy of a one-woman marching band. She has been an unstoppable musical force since she was 8 years old; her original compositions have accompanied ballets and been performed internationally. Her albums are streaming here on bandcamp.
Please get in touch with Hope at firstname.lastname@example.org for questions, guest list, and interviews. Feel free to check out other projects she is involved in like Silbo Gomero and Bloody Tambourine and the Musical Mafia.

Last Saturday, January 23 we did a collaboration with Mikautadze Dance Theatre, Saitnkini (Austria) and Silbo Gomero. It was such a wonderful experience.
The first set we performed our original all vocal music along with the choreography of Lucia Rogers. We performed with an interactive sculpture called The CORE, an 8ft sculpture that represents the complexity of the human spirit. The first part of the show as titled, “Reveal” and will likely be the title of our next album.
“Reveal” explores the process of grief through movement and the sounds of the human voice. The style of each song varies greatly from one to the next, reflecting the range of emotions one can experience while grieving. This performance art piece not only intends to feel fully the pain of loss, but also intends to show how one can draw strength from those around them and from the rhythm that moves the universe. The combination of the two can empower us to reveal what is in our own hearts.
The second portion of the show was with Mikautdaze Dance Theatre, Saitnkini and Silbo Gomero. It was so exciting to take part in a collaboration where we felt were all on the same wavelength. And the fact that it was inter-continental was invigorating. The second portion was titled “Schreimoment.”
German for “Scream Moment,” this performance freezes time and invites the audience on a journey into the human psyche to experience what it may feel like after years of a lack of self-reflection. Each person is born with his or her own voice, along with his or her own intentions – such as the intentions expressed in this piece (communication, familial, health and fitness, beauty, Angst [fear] and Weltschmerz [world pain]). When we ignore our own voice for an extended period, it can experience severe thirst for attention, and our intentions can become illusions, confusing and distracting us from our purest selves. It is during this period when our voice can become a scream.
Now a little bit about The CORE.
The CORE stands for Cultivating Oneness Reinventing Expression. Currently in prototype form, it stands 8 ft tall and is intended to be a visual representation of the complexity of the human spirit – our center, which has the capacity to be the strongest and weakest part of our very being.
Our mission is to be an interactive art installation that opens up conversation about what all human beings have in common; to challenge each other and help each other grow as artists through meaningful collaborations; to strive to understand and express the core of humanity.
Stay tuned for more updates on our performances with The CORE =)

So…this is my newest venture…
I want to build this tower thing…but really its a bridge and a stage….I’ve been calling it a Tradger, because tower+bridge+stage = tradger…
What is The Core?
-A 12-14 ft. structure with tunnels, crevices, nooks and crannies.
-Will ideally be a stage upon which inter-disciplinary performances will take place.
-Will be a challenge for meaningful collaborations.
-Will represent the collective core of our being as humans.
But really its more than that…here is the mission statement:
Our Mission: To be an interactive art installation that opens up conversation about what all human beings have in common; to challenge each other and help each other grow through meaningful collaborations; to strive to understand and express the core of humanity.
The city of Fort Wayne is teeming with local talent. This project seeks to act as a bridge amongst artists in our community to hopefully result in meaningful collaborations that resonate with people from all walks of life. We aim to achieve this through seminars, workshops and conversations about culture, history, biology, sociology, aesthetics, linguistics and many other fields of study with the goal of understanding what it means to live fully as a human, and applying the information to our performances and collaborations.

I’m really hoping to bring artists from all walks of life together to speak to each other and to the community about their work, how it relates to our society, and I hope this will be a challenge for artists to work together.
I’ll post more about it the more the idea is developed!!
